Sandy Hook is part of the Gateway National Recreation Area, a sprawling federal park that includes land in three New York City boroughs as well as northern New Jersey.

Sandy Hook’s 2,044 acres include seven miles of ocean beaches as well as a recently completed multi-use pathway that enables visitors to experience this area by means of two-wheeled transportation.
